Catch UP

Where have the weeks gone?  The months?  My goodness!  It has been two (months) since I have been here.  I have been spending many hours volunteering at the Young People’s Theater group my daughter belongs to as they prepare to present the “Nutcracker” next weekend.

I have also been very busy working on my new portrait photography business. Working with families and editing portraits is something I am enjoying more than I ever could have imagined.

I am hoping it will grow more come spring when the weather warms up since most people don’t think about doing outdoor portraits in the cold winter months. I have had a handful of inquires from strangers, but up to this point all of my clients have been family or friends. Again, I am hoping this changes come spring. I know it will if it is meant to be. God willing, all things happen the way they are supposed to, so I am not worried.

One thing I have been doing is keeping up on my Instagram account.  I post mostly images from my portraits sessions there.  So, I’ll end by leaving you with my last two months of Instagram images.

June’s Instagram Images

A little over a month ago, I decided that Offshoots Photography should join the world of Instagram. I have a personal account already for friends and family pics, but I wanted a place to share portraits as I one day build up the business side of Offshoots.

In the meantime, I am using it to share creative works on the go and as a chance to use some of the awesome mobile photo-editing apps out there. Moreover, like WordPress, it is a great way to connect with other photographers and artists in order to learn from and enjoy their work, as well as to connect with potential clients in my area. I am also using it as a medium to share long forgotten images I may fine tune or completely revamp into photo art.

I am having a lot of fun with it because I can sit anywhere with my phone and create versus being tied to my laptop. Also, pulling up old images brings back lots of good memories.
