December and January Instagrams
Here are the last part of December and all of January’s Instagram posts. It is where I post my portrait business images. Stuff that you won’t necessarily see here except for when I do these little updates. Feel free to follow me on Instagram if that is your thing, too.
Bookworm
My daughter found this quaint little shop with a variety of artisans and vendors selling their wares within. Tucked back deep inside was a tiny book nook.
I had my Sony with me, but my flash wasn’t fired to full power when I hit the shutter. I was in too much of a hurry, trying to get a shot in between the other customers bearing down on us. We waited around a little bit, hoping for it to clear out some, but it never did.
So, I just took what I had and made it kind of artsy. I present to you:
The Bookworm
Catch UP
Where have the weeks gone? The months? My goodness! It has been two (months) since I have been here. I have been spending many hours volunteering at the Young People’s Theater group my daughter belongs to as they prepare to present the “Nutcracker” next weekend.
I have also been very busy working on my new portrait photography business. Working with families and editing portraits is something I am enjoying more than I ever could have imagined.
I am hoping it will grow more come spring when the weather warms up since most people don’t think about doing outdoor portraits in the cold winter months. I have had a handful of inquires from strangers, but up to this point all of my clients have been family or friends. Again, I am hoping this changes come spring. I know it will if it is meant to be. God willing, all things happen the way they are supposed to, so I am not worried.
One thing I have been doing is keeping up on my Instagram account. I post mostly images from my portraits sessions there. So, I’ll end by leaving you with my last two months of Instagram images.

Thanks for reading. Hope you have a beautiful day! ❤
I went exploring last week and found a great new place to take clients for portrait sessions. I am shooting a family there this Friday. Can’t wait!
Check out my portrait portfolio on my business website, Offshoots Photography.
I have been busy setting up my new portrait photography business! I finally took the plunge and made the name, “Offshoots Photography,” official by registering it with the Secretary of State. I also registered with the Department of Revenue for my retail sales license; applied for my local business license; hired a company to do my logo, here it is:
I hired the same company to design my business cards; created a Facebook Page (Like it here); created a website (check it out here); created all my forms from scratch; aaaaaand….the most exciting thing:
I had my first official portrait session yesterday! So exciting! I won’t be blogging about them here, but instead on my business blog at Offshoots Photography Blog.
There’s nothing there yet, but will be soon, so make sure to follow.
In the meantime, I will be posting here again, as well, now that the business is mostly set up. Here are some pet portraits of my pooches. I can’t believe I actually got them to sit still long enough to take these.
I do post daily on Instagram, so follow me there, too, @offshoots_photography.
