Wild flowers seen on a recent walk through an interesting community.

I recently wrote about a town that is the next one over from mine named Cottleville.  What I didn’t mention is that in this small town it is very popular to own and drive a golf cart around to get from place to place.

I don’t know how or why this started but they have even poured extra wide sidewalks throughout town to accommodate all of the golf carts. And if there are no sidewalks, people merely drive them in the streets often holding up traffic since they don’t go as fast as the speed limit is set at.

On this particular walk, I was on a path at a park in Cottleville walking through a partially wooded area and in my short ten minute walk 3 golf carts, at various times, flew past me at high speeds blaring music. Years ago this path provided a peaceful walk for me, but not this day.

Maybe I would understand the allure of driving all over town in these carts if I lived there, but to me they are a nuisance, unnecessary, and disruptive to many things.

I think I may be getting more crabby in my old age! 😉

i know what you mean about those golf carts. I’m always telling people that they have to make strict speed limiters on those things and not allow them to travel more than 6 mph. if it were up to me, they wouldn’t be allowed to go more than 4mph – now THAT is probably crabby 😀 beautiful pictures! Thanks, Mike. Speed limits would be nice except when they are on the streets. They need to go faster to keep up with the cars lol

Is the first flower photo a thistle? If so, they’re a little different looking from the thistles we have here in California. It’s too bad about the golf carts on the path. That would be bothersome.

I believe it is a thistle, Janet. Are yours a different color? Thanks for stopping by 😃

No, not a different color but a little bit of a different shape.

I love weeds! (I know gardeners will curse) – they are so robust and determined!

(and no… not crabby – just more honest maybe!)

Haha thanks Linda. There’s probably a difference between honest observation and complaining. I think I was definitely doing the latter. 😂

I find it hard to imagine… but then again… slow drivers really are troublesome!
