Through the Lens of Exhaustion: Capturing Life While in Pain and Drained

Here are a couple of older winter photos from last year. It was a sunny but chilly day.

Right now I look at these images and fear I may drown if I was there since I can’t seem to keep my eyes open from the pain medicines I am on from a surgery I had last week. I hate the side effects but the pain is even more unbearable so hopefully both will be gone soon enough! (I still have some more photos I can post though until I can get out and drive safely again.)

I have also been off of social media since right after the election because the state of affairs is abhorrent. I just can’t subject myself to it on such polarized platforms.

My goal was to force myself to do something besides sleep today and so I made this blog post. Yay me! Until next time…

sorry to hear about your social media experience following the elections. i see alot of accounts here too that are like…raving, angry and quite scary. i’m glad the computer acts as somewhat of a zoo enclosure lol.
i hated the side effects of the post-surgery meds i had too but you’re right. the one instance where i allowed the pain to come back was the only time i needed to make me take the meds as prescribed. hope you feel better soon and as always, beautiful compositions.

Hope you feel better soon. Don’t be a hero and wait too long before taking the pain meds. If you are in pain, take the meds.
Yes, I’m angry about the election and I’m angry and embarrassed by the Felon President.
But get better soon so you can get out and click your camera shutter more.

That’s the plan. Thanks! The stronger pain meds allowed me to take some pictures around the house of the new kittens today. Felt good.

Feel better soon! I have been in your situation before and it’s really not fun. You’re right to stay away from so-called social media. Try to focus on doing things that might elevate your mood like watching a funny movie and rest and sleep as much as you need to. Cheers.

Thanks, Lynette. I have fully recovered from my surgery thank goodness and am feeling like myself again. I am still staying away from as much social media as I can. It is such an energy drain!
