I’ve been exercising at home lately doing a combination of upper and lower body weighted ones and a few core ones. Some call for me to stand, some to sit in a chair, and some to lay on the floor. I mixed them all up rather than doing all of the ones in the same position in a row. That way I am getting up and down off the floor multiple times, which for someone my age is an exercise in and of itself.
I watched a show several years back about Blue Zone areas in the world. These are areas where people tend to live a lot longer and in better health than people in the rest of the world. I remember in one Blue Zone, people spent a lot of the time doing their activities such as eating, gardening, exercising and even socializing from a seated position on the floor or ground. They attributed this fact with one of the reasons they stayed fit and healthy and thus, lived to ripe old ages. Hence, my motivation to get up and down from the floor often.
In keeping with this train of thought I had this bright idea, when I didn’t make it to a park today to take pictures with my Sony a7III but was still itching to step outside and grab some around my yard, to challenge myself to only take pictures while sitting on the ground. The new perspective was quite fun. Let me know what you think and give it a try sometime!
