Things Are Going to Get Worse and then Hopefully Better

The pictures in this post are the last from my trip to Flatwoods Park which is really not a park but a tiny lot with ramp access into Cuivre River in O’Fallon Missouri.

I posted some other photos of this location in my last two posts here and here.

Here’s the ramp into the river and a view of the road that crosses over the river.

Migraine update: I went 3 weeks without a migraine after I started Invisalign. Then I had to hold one of my migraine prevention meds due to being on an antibiotic for a week. I decided this would be a good opportunity to see if I could go without it long term since I had been off of it for a week already.

Since then I have had 3 migraines in the span of seven days. I was about to add it back to my daily pill box (yes, I have one of those because I take so many/too many medications) but then I did some research and found out that it could take 4-6 weeks of more migraines not because my body needs the medication but because it is recalibrating as it gets used to being without it. In other words, once my nervous system and receptors adjust I should go back to my baseline frequency.

Can I hold out that long having faith that things will get better eventually? Or will I cave in less than a month and prematurely assume that I need the medication? It would be really nice to cut back on the number of medicines I take so I am motivated to stick it out and see what happens.

Luckily, I see my neurologist in about six weeks and we can assess together whether or not I should go back on it. Wish me luck!

It’s so tricky knowing which way to go (I’m weaning of HRT treatment and the occasional migraine-flare makes me want to pivot back onto the medication – but I keep remembering how bad it was when I let me hair go grey – the first bits the worst … !!) Hang in there and good luck!! Linda xx
