How cute is he?
It is sad where my thoughts have been lately: focusing too much on the outward appearance of things. Being too self-critical, too negative, too judgmental.
Fear is at the root of all these things. Fear of imperfections, fear of growing old; ultimately, fear of death. In Miguel Ruiz’s book, The Four Agreements, he says if only we can face the Angel of Death and live everyday as if it is our last, we can lose our fears and finally know peace and happiness.
Can you face your fears and focus on the positive?
This pretty one was sitting (standing) out in the middle of the water all by his lonesome fishing for food. I was under the impression that they traveled in pairs but I never saw another one around in the time I was there.
It’s been a year like any other. Many ups and downs, all of us just trying to live life on life’s terms; maybe focusing on our worries more than we should, but often reminding ourselves to look at all we have to be grateful for.
One of the things I love most about taking pictures is they are always of pleasant subjects: people, everyday objects, animals, nature, architecture, food, and so on. It keeps me focused on the simple, positive, beautiful things in life like my brother’s pets. 🙂
Happy New Year to everyone and best wishes in 2018!
