I’m typically a private person, preferring to listen to others over talking about myself. However, I thought I’d give Cee’s Share Your World a go this week.
These photos are of a little town called Herman, in Missouri, that we visited for the day.
What is your favorite outdoor activity? I like to hike through the woods. It has to be in the woods because the woods are obviously shaded. I don’t tolerate the heat and sun well plus there is just something so peaceful and soothing about being surrounded and covered by all those trees. The muted lighting and mossy scents are calming to me as well.
In a car would you rather drive or be passenger? Definitely be passenger. Driving stresses me out with all the traffic and aggressive drivers on the road these days. It seems like everyone is in such a hurry and when people are pushing up close behind me it makes me anxious or just down right aggravated. As a passenger, I can sit back and relax and just enjoy the scenery or check the notifications on my phone. 🙂
If you could have three wishes granted for you alone, what would they be? First thing is to never have another migraine again. I have been suffering from them for six years, am on multiple medications and yet I still get five or six a month. Right now my doctor is trying Botox injections for them, which is pretty wild. I get 31 shots all across my forehead and around my head and the back of my neck. Not exactly the most comfortable thing to go through but will be worth it if it works. Too early to tell yet.
Second wish would be to lose some weight without changing my eating or activity habits and then keep it off without doing any extra work as well. LOL! It seems the older I get the harder it is to keep the weight off. I’d like to lose 25 pounds. Right now, I seem to keep losing and gaining the same 10 pounds over and over again year after year. I’m gonna keep at it and get there. I just wish I didn’t have to work at it so hard.
Third wish would be complete financial freedom. Who wouldn’t love to buy what they wanted and travel where they wished? My first purchase would be a really nice camera with top of line lenses and a new house with a full pro studio set up on site. I’d hire a mentor to teach me everything I need to know to become a highly skilled portrait photographer. And then a highly skilled landscape photographer. I’d travel to Italy and France, and be able to donate to all my favorite causes in a way I am not able to now.
What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week? I appreciated the fact that I got to say goodbye to one of my best friends before she passed away last Wednesday. She was like a mom to me and I miss her so very much. She died from complications due to pneumonia after being taken off of a ventilator, so we knew ahead of time that she would be passing. I suppose it is not too often you get to say goodbye to someone you know is going to probably be gone that same day, but that is what we did. She was fully awake and aware when I saw her. She couldn’t talk with the tubes down her throat but she could mouth some things and she smiled and we laughed and prayed and I hugged her. It was something I will remember and cherish forever.
~In memory of Diane~
