I have been blogging here since 2013. Previous to that I had a different photography blog for 3 years under a pseudonym because I was hesitant about putting personal information “out there.” Honestly, I wish I still felt that way but after being online for over 16 years now I have become desensitized to the dangers of online activity which probably isn’t a good thing but is the nature of existence for a lot of people these days.
On the other hand, I do know a handful of people who have a very small to almost nonexistent digital footprint and sometimes I envy them and long for the days prior to having this phone stuck in my hands on a daily basis.
Overall, blogging has been a positive experience for me. I have made connections, sometimes consistently and other times intermittently, but they have mostly been affirming.
One of the most rewarding blogging connections I have made recently is with Linda at the Mindful Migraine Blog. I believe she found me first and I’m not sure how, but occasionally I do mention my migraine struggles on this blog and tag my posts with “migraine” so maybe she found me that way???
Linda has inspired me to write and share my thoughts a little more when I post my nature pictures here and I can’t promise how long I will keep up the writing but for now here it is.
This weekend Linda organized a zoom get-together for her fellow bloggers which was super cool because I got to visit with her face to face (or computer camera to computer camera) with her being in Sydney Australia and me in the US. This is the first time I have done something like that related to my blogging but Linda and I have so much in common that it felt very natural.
Tell me about your blogging experience. Have you made any special connections along the way?
