This first photo was taken with my Sony A7 III and edited in Lightroom. If I had to do it over again I would have cranked up the iso and then dealt with the noise in Lightroom because trying to bring the shadows up in Lightroom on this did not look good so I kept them dark enough that the trees are silhouettes.

The sun was rising over a river blanketed with early morning fog. It was quite serene.
This next photo I took at the same time and place with my phone Pixel 6 and edited on my phone’s photo app I believe. It seems like the phone always takes photos in an HDR type way where the light and dark areas of the photo are more balanced.

I just realized I could have done that with my Sony by taking 3 photos – exposing one for the sky, one for the trees and one in-between and then merging them in Lightroom. I think I was still half asleep so I didn’t think of it. Maybe next time.
