Exploring the Snow Around My Home

We got over a foot of snow at the beginning of the week. I drove to a park to take some snowy landscape images and I couldn’t get in because the entrance was blocked with a huge snow bank from when the plow went by.

So, I came back and just made some photos around my home.

We are supposed to get another couple of inches of snow tonight! How’s the weather where you are?

they’ve got a snow watch for us tonight but I don’t think it’ll be significant. looks like that system tapered off the more it went east!

love the photos! and it always cracks me up to see animal paws in the snow indicating what the little rascals were up to 🙂 Mike

You have quite a lot piled up in places! We don’t have any – except in the mountains where it should be – but that’s quite normal for this area. Lots of rain and overcast though!

Rain is dreary. At least with the snow it’s a little brighter with all of the white!

It has been very windy and my area is still under red flag warnings. In fact, the power company shut off the power in my area yesterday about 230pm. It is still off as I write this it’s about 1030 am on Friday. The wind was bad yesterday but so far this morning it has been fine. Sunny and clear blue skies with temps in the low 60s. No word as yet when power will come back as the red flag warnings remain until later today. They shut off power so that the power lines if damaged by the wind won’t cause wildland fires. But I don’t know where those power lines are that supply my area.

Oh I’m so sorry to hear this. The fires out there are horrible. I can’t even imagine it. I see it on the local news here and I feel so awful for the people who are losing their homes and everything. I hope you stay safe.

I am nowhere near any of the active fires. So I’m safe. Thank you
