Atop a scenic bluff in Herman, Missouri sits the grave marker of Charles Teubner.
Teubner was born in Alabama in 1808 and came to Herman in 1847. He quickly became one of the most successful grape growers in the region. When he died unexpectedly in 1851, his brother-in-law took over the business.
