ICM Photography Art

I came across the concept of ICM (intentional camera movement) photography in an article I was reading recently and it really caught my interest. It sounded like something I would enjoy and so far, it has been a fun experiment.

To create ICM images, I literally move my camera while taking pictures at a slow shutter speed thereby blurring the images on purpose. I then take those pictures and process them into the final pieces you see here.

For now, I am posting the final piece (above) along with the original unedited file(s) (below) I started with straight out of the camera just to give you an idea of what type of transformation can take place.

Piece No. 1 I created from two pictures of some tree tops against a gray sky.

I think the first unedited file may have had too much detail in it, but this was my very first attempt at creating a ICM piece so I am not going to be too hard on myself. 🙂
